University of the Free State: Vacancies in Classics

The Department of Greek, Latin and Classical Studies at the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein is urgently looking for temporary lecturing staff experienced in lecturing Classical Studies  (including Mythology and Civilizations) up to an Honors level and/or Latin on undergraduate level. A relevant qualification and proven ability in lecturing Latin / Classical Studies is a prerequisite. The level of appointment will depend on the successful candidate(s)’ qualifications, academic record, highest degree obtained and experience in teaching the above disciplines.

ASCS Brisbane (reminder)

One final reminder that the abstracts for ASCS 39 (2018) in Brisbane are due by Friday 28 July. The schedules of those on the refereeing panels mean that late submissions will not be accepted. Please don’t be caught out. Professor Victor Castellani at Wits

Professor Victor Castellani of the University of Denver, USA, will present a seminar ‘On misreading Sophocles’ Antigone not without reference to Athol Fugard’s The Island‘ on Friday 11 August at Wits University.
